| | stayed at the (not so great) Villa Atong Atang. it gave new meaning to the word "rundown". Buti na lang maganda ang pwesto nya, very near where the action is -- in this case, the church and the plaza.
i got to Kalibo first -- we have different flight schedules, some coming from Iloilo pa. ako ang winner sa first leg ng Amazing Aklan Race, hekhek. Diko pa alam ang prize :p
so after "freshening up" at the the not-so-fresh-five-cockroach-hotel, i went to the Museo de Akeanon (for nothing better to do really). There's nothing to see there as well. Went to watch the schools drum and bugle competition na lang. It was fun pero tail-end na ang naabutan ko. Nagsawa ako sa puro tugtog na "igiling Mo" at "Itaktak Mo" from the performers. Hahaha.
Jing and Randee came next. Naghanap pa kami ng ibang titirhan pero asa pang makahanap ng iba. Maliban sa punuan, all prices were jacked up at least 200%. Buset.
Then the rest of the group came at after lunch.
Nung gabi we entertained ourselves with the performance at Magsaysay Park. And beer of course.

630am - nagtext si eloi na nahiraman nya ako ng helmet (yayayayay!!! thank you!)

nasiraan ng bike si Enteng, na aberya ulit sila sa kalye. tambay kami sa Tropical. we drove up to Timberland while the guys biked all the way. grabe, kahit sa kotse natakot kami sa taas ng akyat!!!

| | as promised, nagpagupit ang starhausmates - me and Chris na lang dahil nauna na si Gus. at si Chris ang nagequest na dapat daw maikli para maiba naman.

| | wala sa plano namin ni Ruth ang magpunta sa Talomo (place nina Joepot), pero dahil nag-uwian na ang ilan naming kasama, jumoin kami sa mga taga-Cebu sa Talomo, instead of staying in our hotel. Tutal borlogs kami at gusto pang mag-beach ni Ruth (at ayoko nang mag-Paradise ulit). Umiral na naman ang aming "adventurous" streak so after ng aming breakfast buffet kasama sina Jonhy at Pra-Pra, attack na kami sa Talomo.
Sandali lang ang biyahe - mga 30 minutes by taxi. Tambay lang muna sa house nina Joepot (where they guys from Cebu are staying) at chika sa Papa nila. Si Paulo ni-ready na ang tuba (yikes!!!) -- this will be my 3rd time lang na uminom ng tuba. Hehehe.
So mula 3pm nasa beach na kami. Si Ruth nagustuhan nang sobra ang tuba. Ako, nakailang rounds lang, mga 10. hahahaha. Tapos Red Horse na ang mga sumunod na pinagsaluhan. Inihaw na isda at baboy ang pagkain. Hilaw na mangga on the side.
Daming kwentuhan, kantahan (dahil me nagdala ng gitara), panaka-nakang "training" sa amin ni Ruth ng aming mga arnis mastahs. Hehehe. Ang saya!!! ^_^
And the beach....not your usual 'whitesand' beach pero dahil fine yung sand at walaaaaang kabato-bato, keribels ang night swimming. Para kaming mga baliw nag-trip nung medyo nakainom na, ginugulo namin yung mga luminous things in the ocean -- planktons nga ba ang mga yun? ^_^

after a uhm, hearty breakfast (kahit practically no sleep ako!) of adobong pork at chicken + sinangag + minimonay at jam and coffee, rampa na sa ATV-han. Si manong guide ulit (erning ba?).
di namin mapigil tawa nung sinusuotan kami ng elbow at kneepads saka helmet, mighty morphin time talaga!!!
tsan-tsararaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaan!!! ATV!!!!
tapos silip silip sa animals sa Mt. Luho, tapos pichuran sa taas, bird's eyeview ng buong island. ang ganda!!!
tapos leisurely yummy lunch sa Siam Chili, spicy-ness! tapos coffee sa Lonely Planet, tapos punta na sa airport.
at dahil maaga kami ng mga two-three hours, pinasakay na kami sa alas-2 na biyahe -- PALexpress ako, Seair sila ^_^ |

| | dahil 40th birthday ni Dulce at naisipang gawin ang "healthier" way of celebrating a birthday -- walkathon ang naisipan.
so after a LOT of egroup exchanges, i and the rest of the Spelunkiks (my brother's barkada since college) met at the Quezon Hall one Saturday morning for the walkathon. i promised birthday girl Dulce i'd help her with some yoga stretches before we set out for the road, but i came late (from a night of boozing and dancing). Too early for a saturday for me, but i was there, 30 minutes late, bearing the pandesal at keso we promised to bring (my brother just woke up as i was leaving the house).
still to sleepy, showered and rushed to the meeting place -- i found everyone, ready, with their numbers on their shirt front and a "slogan" at the back. everyone had registered and were already doing stretches. Couldnt think of a slogan that early so i wrote "Competitive, pero tamad lang" on mine.
By around 920am Dulce was already reading to us solidarity messages from the other spelunkers abroad. Fun start :)
True to my "slogan", i set out fast and maintained my pace (with Faye/Faith, the 7-yr old girl walking really fast alongside myself) throughout the course. I even took photos of the other walkathoners.
Randee caught up with me near the UP Theater and could have easily won if he wanted to but i guess being a gentleman that he is, let me finish first.

My brother arrived as we all re-grouped near Oble. After his one round at the Oval, we found a spot behind Quezon Hall, underneath a tree (napakaganda), for our brunch/picnic.
Then the brunch began. Yun, yun ang mas masaya!!!
Not bad for my first walkathon :) even if it was just a not-so-serious one.

| | we missed caron so much - we havent seen her in 4 months! so the first agenda when she flew back from Canada is a reggae party in Xaymaca (after sleeping off her jetlag) - of course on a Friday when our fave reggae band is playing. Too bad RG 3 couldnt come with us. :(
Brownman Revival, a couple of rum-cokes and a pitcher of deadly Azurri took us on a spin! dancing the night away is something we will never tire of.
